I am a semi-retired IT and Finance Professional that has had a long held interest in Filmmaking, Photography and, if I am honest, just about any other field that involves lots of gadgets.

When the Canon 5D Mark II arrived in 2009, I became an enthusiastic member of the DSLR filmmaking community.  This eventually led to me helping my son Alex to start our production company Fotan Productions in 2016.

This blog has changed over time to reflect my current interests. In 2019, I started a project to walk the Wales Coast Path. I have been using the blog to chronicle my walks. I have also started two very different automative adventures. The first is committing to use an electric vehicle as my daily driver. As an early adopter, I am using the blog to pass on my experiences to others who might be interested in making the transition. The second adventure is purchasing a camper van. I have very little history of camping so these articles will very much be the tentative first steps of a newbie camper.

Where does this Endeavour fixation come from?

I am often asked (not really) why I have websites or ids with Endeavour in them.  It's nothing to do with space shuttles, Captain Cook or Morse despite me being interested in all of those.  Going back to a time when the internet was black and white, I was keen on sailing.  Most things at the time were done in forums, chat rooms and BBS.  Aliases were the norm and the first thing I could think of when choosing my first screen name was my favourite yacht, a J-class racer from the golden age of the Americas Cup called Endeavour.  So now you know.
